A B O U T

Masti Lashkari is an Iranian-American author and Marriage and Family therapist graduate. While working with children during her traineeship as Marriage and Family Therapist, Masti was inspired to write her first children’s book, ‘Emma and the Big Orange Monster,' A Tale of Unity and Bravery.Masti's goal is to help children overcome their fears and shared social anxiety. Masti hopes by doing so, she can motivate children to be empowered and develop into adults that show empathy and understanding of all social, religious, and ethnic backgrounds.
Masti is a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), Society of
Children's Book Writers and Illustrators Iranian (SCBWI), Psychological Association of America (IPAA), Public Affairs Alliance of Iranian Americans (PAAIA), and Iranian American Women’s Foundation (IAWF).
